Operations Update
We WON - Next Steps

On May 7 the Saratoga City Council, in a 3 to 1 vote, approved a resolution that  enables our return to our Tasting Room at Vineyard Point, a member favorite.

At Vineyard Point we will be allowed to operate more hours with more attendees and a wider range of activities, including private events and private tastings.

But first, the city has given us a check list of 85 items that we have to complete before getting an occupancy permit. Some are trivial, some require more work. The significant tasks can be grouped into three categories.

  1. Tasting Room. We will install fireproofing to our exterior, glass windows that open and close, and make a few other improvements.
  2. Fire Access Road. We will upgrade the aggregate road near the Tasting Room entrance to Fire Department specifications. We will install a fire hydrant along that road.
  3. Emergency Access Road. We will build to Fire Department specifications an access road providing an alternate ingress and egress in the event of an emergency.

What about the wine cave? That will be in phase 2, after the above items, and is not required to be completed before we reopen at Vineyard Point.

When will this be completed? Honestly, we don’t know. We are busy getting permits to do the above items. Once permitted we need to get estimates from multiple sources, the work needs to be scheduled, completed, and inspected by city and Fire Department personnel. We will provide updates on our progress.

Meanwhile, we look forward to seeing you at Izumi Point where we can enjoy the beautiful summer weather and great views of the Santa Cruz Mountains.  Please make a reservation for our current site at Izumi Point: << Book Reservation >>
