The 2016 Estate Merlot is a great example as to why Merlot is one of the most noble varietals. Extremely limited with less than 50 cases of this royal gem available. Loaded with black fruit in both the bouquet and on the palette. Lots of Blackberry, and rich Black Currants through out. Aromas of sweet leaf litter, forest floor, warm biscuits, sweet pipe tobacco smoke, and winter spices. Then crowning the black fruit on the palette you have beautiful notes of minced meat pie, cola, sarsaparilla, and exquisite underpinnings of both herbal, and baking spices along side a wide range of other elegant and subtle complexities. This wine is beautiful and tasty now, and it will only get better.
